The Face of Leadership™ Pledge signals a firm commitment from top-level leaders to advance gender diversity in their organizations. Signatories agree to seven principles in the pursuit of increasing female leadership and fostering inclusive cultures.
This pledge is in alignment with the United Nations’ Women’s Empowerment Principles and the achievement of Global Goal #5 (achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls). It is also compatible with the 50-30 Challenge.
To support signatories in fulfilling their pledge, Minerva BC provides opportunities to connect, learn, and share best practices.
- In 2016, we welcomed 250 attendees to the Face of Leadership™ Conference featuring a keynote presentation by Carlee-Beth Hawkins of Project Implicit. This was one of the first events in Vancouver that introduced the topic of unconscious bias to the business community.
- We host roundtable discussions on a wide range of topics including inclusive leadership, measuring progress, and equitable HR practices. Guest speakers have included Miklós Dietz from McKinsey & Co. on The Power of Parity and Wyle Baoween from HRx Technologies on the topic of bias-free recruitment. These forums provide opportunity to stay informed of current practices and trends.
- We host an annual Inclusive Leadership Forum during Gender Equality Week in September. Featuring 20+ speakers and experts, and over 200 attendees, the Forum is an opportunity to learn how to advance equity, diversity and inclusion in your workplace.
